We are excited to announce that Broadworks has been shortlisted in the “Meanwhile” category for the
New London Awards 2024!

Supported by the Mayor of London, the New London Awards celebrate the best new projects across every sector that make a positive contribution to their surroundings.

Broadworks exemplifies the transformative power of partnerships in reshaping urban spaces. Through collaboration with Hive Curates, Landsec, and EC BID, we’ve curated a vibrant meantime use space right in the middle of the historically cultural and craft-focused City of London.

Broadworks plays an integral role in influencing the cultural scene of the Eastern City. Since opening, we have established a workspace for up to 18 resident artists, allowing the production of incredible art and craft to happen onsite. We have created further visibility for creatives by delivering events in collaboration with over 128 individual creatives and partner organisations like EC BID, Landsec, UAL MA Biodesign, DJ’s for Climate Action, Spring Cafe, The Creatives, Black and White Gallery, Nosakhari and OFFCUT.
Partnerships with community groups and individuals have helped to animate our spaces with cultural activities and participatory workshops that connect to global and local events like London Fashion Week, Earth Night, Black History Month, Climate Action Week etc. We aim to be at the forefront of new perspectives and create an inclusive space encouraging a sense of belonging, bringing life and colour into the City.

But there’s more! Broadworks is also shortlisted for the NLA’s 2024 People’s Choice Award, where the public and wider built environment community can have their say and pick their favourite from this year’s shortlist.

Please vote for us by Friday 4 October here:

You can also vote for Broadworks as part of the Hidden Heroes Award. Shaping the city is a collective endeavour which requires the skills and dedication of numerous professions and trades. Often each project fulfils its ultimate potential because of the skills and dedication of individuals. These individuals’ efforts often go unseen and unrecognised, yet without them we would not have the energy and diverse city we have today. The ‘Hidden Hero’ prize recognises individuals that make a significant contribution to the creation of great places.

Nominate your Hidden Hero by Friday, 4th October below:

Your support means the world to us! Let’s continue to shape and celebrate the vibrant spirit of London together ✨
