Join us on a captivating journey of jewellery making that ventures into the realms of unknown lands. We invite you to an interactive exhibition featuring artist Stelios Karantonas’ latest collection of gemstones set in metal, running from the 29th August to the 1st September.
An imaginative creator, Stelios draws inspiration from the simplicity of the five Platonic Solids and Sacred Geometry. His minimalist journey into the world of adornments began with a passion that has only deepened over the years. Unassuming yet dedicated, Stelios finds solace in the delicate dance of gold, oxidised silver, and precious gemstones under skilled hands, shaping heirloom pieces that exude subtle elegance.
The ‘Astra’ collection is dedicated to the mysteries of Sacred Geometry. Stelios will take us on an immersive experience through galaxies, their colours, and their mysteries. The gallery will host two concurrent exhibitions: a display of the most unique and authentic pieces from Stelios’s past collections, and a live creation of his latest collection, ‘Astra’.
But why ‘Astra’? Astra is the Greek word for stars. While experimenting with stones one day, Stelios accidentally created a piece that resembled the cosmos. In that moment, he knew his next step: to create more unique pieces following specific patterns from Sacred Geometry. The collection is a tribute to the universe, the final element of the five Platonic Solids.
Stelios has garnered acclaim through his participation in renowned international exhibitions such as the Beijing International Contemporary Metal & Jewellery Art Exhibition, the MAD Museum in Manhattan, and other notable events across Europe. He has built his reputation through hard work and an extraordinary eye for detail.
The Astra exhibition will feature live stone setting only. Visitors can interact with the artist to create bespoke designs and ask questions. However, please note that a limited number of people will be admitted to the gallery at a time, so it is advisable to arrive early.
