Unwind in the City - Wednesday Kids’ Art Club
3D coral collage workshop with Susana
The workshop will be led under the theme of sustainability, where children can create a fun coral reef scene using recycled and reused materials. All our wastage is a major climate issue, particularly for our friends who live under water! The world's major coral reefs and marine life are facing extreme decline. With this in mind, we can spread awareness to this issue by rebuilding our own ‘recycled’ coral reef, using cardboard, straws, paper, packaging, egg cartons, bottle lids, sponges, old fabric and all the other odd bits that would be overlooked as trash. It will be an exciting workshop that journeys children's imagination below land to envision a thriving ecosystem and keep us mindful of the part we play in protecting our oceans. Susana will be collecting materials throughout the upcoming weeks for the workshop, and would be happy for anyone else to contribute any of their own recycled findings too!
Susana Da Silva, born and raised in North London, is an oil painter whose work indulges in the beauty of landscapes and nature. With a background in Fine Art study at UAL, she has shared her love for art through children's art classes and workshops for a number of years. With an enthusiasm to creatively connect with and inspire others in her community, she continues to share her joy of art through her lens of the natural world.
