Plarn jewellery workshop with Jade from Lila-Rose
Plarn, or plastic yarn, is made by cutting plastic bags into loops and joining them together into a continuous strip to make yarn. Plarn can be crocheted, knitted or knotted to form a strong structure or material.
In this workshop kids can knot, plait, braid or even finger knit plarn together to make bracelets and necklaces, or it can be wrapped or knotted around cable ties to create a decoration for various uses. The workshop enables children to open their eye to the possibilities of taking something they would throw away and turn it into something they can treasure.
Jade from Lila-Rose puts new life into unloved textiles, making unique upcycled clothes and accessories.
This workshop is free to attend but please book your spot to ensure there are enough materials for everyone.
