Rekindling with Place
18th - 28th July 2024

An exhibition of artist Alisa Ruzavina’s distinct collection of socially made textiles celebrating local communities and stories, running from the 18th - 28th July.

‘Rekindling with Place’ consists of textiles pieces from three bodies of work; ‘An Elemental Rekindling’, ‘A Love Note to Urban Ecologies’, and ‘Flags of Our High Street Treasures’ - you can find the communities engaged in these projects below. The exhibition offers new possibilities for living and working together in the City.

Alisa Ruzavina is a community & ecology-tending interdisciplinary artist. Alisa’s socially-engaged practice spans across textiles, costume, public art, installation, sculpture, ritual, ceremony, celebratory and immersive experiences, feasts, workshops, community and participatory art. Her work is created through collaboration with diverse participants, weaving together local stories and geographies through textiles, either through direct participatory workshops or collaboration through conversations and storytelling.

During the opening on the 18th, guitarist Lucy Gowen will be performing her classic guitar music as part of our Thursday Performance events, for Unwind in the City.

The exhibition is available to view Tuesday - Fridays, 8am - 6pm. The gallery will be open late on Thursdays for live performances as part of Unwind in the City. Please visit the reception at 57 Old Broad Street or book an appointment.
