Jenni Allen is a printmaker working in the medium of screen print. Her work encapsulates pattern, colour, form and proportion. Using bold and satisfying palettes she plays with hand drawn pattern, geometry and found imagery & textures.

Favouring the hand made over digital, her preferred methods of stencil making for her screens include hand-cut paper or brush and ink on film. Abstracting details from architecture and natural forms, the negative space in her prints demand equal respect to the printed areas, this offers the viewer a pleasing harmony or an acceptable discord. The work can have an element of repetition which is influenced by the artist’s textile background.
